Identification of differentially expressed genes in the pathways of cerebral neurotransmission in mice anovulatory

Abstract

The Polycystic Ovary Syndrome represents the classic example of the functional loss of cyclicity for feedback anomalous. In this case, the excessive production of androgens and extraglandular conversion to estrogen is the pathophysiological basis of chronic anovulation. The literature describes an experimental model in mice ovaries polimicrocísticos obese diabetics with insulin resistance. The fact that these animals exhibit obesity, insulin resistance and infertility demonstrates his skill as an experimental model for ovarian policistose. A recent study using long protocol for up to 40 weeks, showed that mice transplanted with anovulatory obese and adipose tissue of animals with normal weight had multiple changes in their phenotype, including reduced body weight, obesity prevention, normalizing insulin levels and insulin tolerance tests, prevention of the elevation of corticosteroids and mostly anovulia reversal with restoration of fertility. Considering that are close relations between the ovulation process and the central nervous system, we propose in this project, assess levels of gene expression of 84 different genes involved in neurotransmission as well as to analyze the neuro-lipidomic differential brain of female mice before and after reversal of anovulia.
