Abstract

The proposed work is the evolution of the studies developed by the student in his master degree project. The master degree was about hyperelastic homogeneous and isotropic materials constitutive laws. This doctor degree project intends a contribution in a larger project, a thematic one under the responsibility of this supervisor. The contribution is regarding the consideration of plasticity for large strain analysis of non homogenous materials. This evolvement is also very important for the evolution of the student in the non-linear behavior of materials and structures. From this reasoning the theme of the work can be summarized in its title, i.e., On constitutive models for non-linear functionally graded materials: Numerical Implementation in non-linear dynamic software. The research group where the studies will be developed has been very successful in developing softwares for the analysis of Structural dynamics including Physical and geometrical nonlinearities. The formulation to be developed in this project will be implemented in a software developed by the group, giving the necessary tranquility to the student in order to centralize efforts precisely in the object of its research. As the proposal involves de development of non-linear constitutive models it is important to mention that the research group has a large experience in this fields, including plasticity, viscoelasticity, viscoplasticity, fracture growth and damage mechanics, however limited to small strains. The development of the proposed project will guaranty for the student and the research group to enlarge the knowledge related to non linear behavior of materials, including large strain without putting apart the classical methods of engineering.
