Abstract

This research aims to analize some texts which were written by candidates to Vestibular Unicamp, in the exam called “redação”. These texts were selected and published as the best texts written by students in this exam. The analysis will use Bakhtin’s concepts of discoursive genre, including the concepts of genre style and individual style to discuss why these texts were considered some of the best. The analysis of the texts will be based on the indiciary paradigm (Ginzburg, 1986) which allows the observation of details that may indicate how the texts are adequate to any of the genres that are written in the exam: dissertation, narrative and argumentative letter. Besides marks of the genre, there will be observed marks that may reveal the individual styles. The results of this research will contribute to the discussion of the relation between genre style and individual style, since one hypothesis is that individual style is affected by genre style.
