Abstract

The aim of this study is to realize a quantitative survey about the appearance of chronic illnesses in children that live in the area included for a determined Unit of Family´s Health of the São Carlos city in São Paulo, Brazil. The population in question was identified as being characterized for the index of vulnerability 5 (São Paulo Index of Social Vulnerability - the IPVS). It´s necessary to identify the health situation these carrying children with chronic illness to understand its relations with other factors as, for example, the poverty influence in the assistance/care process of children and interference in the daily family life. It´s observed, in this context, the importance to know these variables in the process of treatment of the chronic illnesses in childhood. For then, it will be used of semi-structured questionnaire with intention to know the families and their related dynamic to the given care the children in the displayed situation. It´s hoped with study, offer subsidies to public policies aimed at health care and social can be produced by restructuring the service and seeking improvements in health care management. (AU)
