Abstract

The written communication is still today the main way to disseminate the scientific research, being done primarily through conventional documents, such as, scientific articles in international journals. In the agronomy area, specifically in citrus, there are several scientific publications that disseminate the generated knowledge, however, these new technologies do not always reach all the interested persons. This study intends to, with the support of bibliometrics, analyze and quantify what were the main research results in the last 10 years, from 2001 to 2010, in the Citriculture of São Paulo State, Brazil and all of the world. So, as a research methodology, it will be used bibliometric analysis, with searches and retrieval of multiple records in the scientific articles Web of science bibliographic database. From the results, indicators will be developed in order to support these professionals in their decision-making and better use of the funds. The razon for choicing and analyzing the citrus area is due to its great economic importance: Brazil accounts for 40% of the world orange production and the citriculture in São Paulo State is now the largest one, responsable for the mayor part of orange juice drunk in all the continents.
