Abstract

Literature has been produced evidences that socialization, particularly the relationship between parents and children, is an important process for individuals and that social skills are configured as a protective factor against deficits and pathologies, and helps for life's quality. Thus, social skills learning, which can occur by consequences management, instruction or modeling, is essential for the health development of children and adolescents. The learning strategy of modeling has brought researches about the behavior repetition between generations (intergenerationality). In Brazil, for some time have been studied some issues about intergenerationality, yet in the field of social skills there is a little knowledge production. The Brazilian literature also has blanks in relation to the quality of parent-child relationship including the absence of a measuring instrument. From this, the present study aims to: (1) characterize the repertoire of social skills of parents and teenagers, (2) identify the possible correlation between the repertoire of social skills of parents and children; (3) analyze the characteristics of social skills more frequently in the repertoires of parents and children respondents. To this end, 100 adolescents and their parents will be evaluated through inventories and IHS-Del Prette IHSA Prette-Del. The data collected will be analyzed descriptively and inferentially by statistical programs.
