Abstract

Questions about how to best educate children and questions about how to act in certain circumstances are common within the family. The most frequent demands inherent in the clinical cases of children and adolescents in the therapy include behavior problems such as aggression, tantrums and excessive disobedience, and also the difficulty with managing emotions. It is called "Parental Style" as a set of educational practices used by the caregivers in order to educate and control the behavior of the children and, in turn, the scientific literature points it as a component capable of predicting the child's wellbeing in competence Domains of social life, behavioral problems, academic performance and psychosocial development. In this way, the studies in this area investigate the set of behaviors of the parents and their influence on the behavioral, emotional and intellectual aspects of the children. Since specific parental behaviors have consequences for the development of children, emphasis is placed on parental guidance programs, which help parents to follow up on their children's clinical case, education strategies, beliefs and feelings About the difficulty of the child or adolescent. In turn, the present study aims to carry out a systematic review on the theme in question and to evaluate the efficiency and predictors of adherence to the LaPICC-USP Parent Guidance Program through parental styles and parents' perceptions of Behavior problems of their children. This study involves quasi-experimental design, with application of the instruments before and after the intervention. These data refer to the period from 2010 to 2015, with six intervention groups and a total of 47 participants. In the collection of data the following instruments were used: Parenting Styles Inventory [IEP] and Child Behavior Check List [CBCL]. The data will be analyzed from descriptive and inferential statistics, using parametric and non-parametric methods. It is hypothesized that it will be possible to evidence data that indicate an improvement in the quality of the interaction between parents and children, with the use of other educational skills more positive after intervention and consequently a reduction of the problems of the children's behavior.
