Abstract

With the mark of the Analysis of the Speech (AD) of French head office, it is looked for in that I plan to observe the discursive operation of the reports of the media on the voice and rubber plantation owner Chico Mendes's death, one of the syndical leaders and more environmentalists of larger recognition on behalf of the Amazonian that Brazil already had, and that it was murdered on December 22, 1988. We longed for to investigate the speeches of / on Chico Mendes, firstly analyzing cuttings of the environmentalist's depositions and, then, the movements of senses caught in journalists' reports that accompanied the details of the death of the denominated "hero of the forest", besides documentaries that tell the path that Mendes traveled to turn a person globally recognized in causes environmentalists' defense. For so much, we will mobilize concepts as subject, sense, ideology, discursive memory and file with views to understand the relationship among them media, the society and the speeches, in other words, seeking the promotion of a field of you know and sayings that take into account the game of the language and of the history.
