Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the influence of mechanical loading on loosening torque of prosthetic screws, misfit and strain of implant-supported prosthesis. Frameworks will be casted in commercially pure titanium, simulating fixed partial dentures (three elements retained by two implants)and complete fixed dentures (retained for five implants). After waxing, the frameworks will be distributed among the 3 groups (n = 10) for each evaluated designs. A model will be fabricated for each framework, which will be evaluated the misfit and loosening torque before and after mechanical cycling (1 million mechanical cycles, 2 Hz, 280N). The strain analysis will be performed using strain gauges associated with casted frameworks and also by the finite element method, to which will be made three-dimensional virtual models simulating situations evaluated in vitro. After obtaining the results, they shall be submitted to exploratory analysis followed by statistical tests more appropriate. (AU)
