Abstract

Although the breed of buffaloes have been in expansion in our country, it still have a lot of impediments for a rational production. However, some researchers have developed isolated works, looking for an improvement of the herd's quality. The biggest rates of mortality in buffaloes are registered in animals that are till six months of years old, it been the neonatal calves diarrhea one of the main causes of these losses. In function of the etiological complexity of the diarrhea in buffaloes and of the lack of information at the region of Pilar do Sul, which have 170 proprieties with breed of buffaloes, and of the zoonotic potential of some of yours agents, the present study has the objective of evaluate clinically the diarrheas of buffalo's calves and research the presence of the main viral etiological agents like Rotavirus and Coronavirus, in sample fecal of nursing calves in semi-intensive dairy exploration in the region of Pilar do Sul, São Paulo.
