Abstract

After some years of Brazil's democratization process the country still faces social problems. Among them the ethnic-racial question is still presented as one of the most complex dilemmas of Brazilian society. The precarious social condition to which the black population lives refers to a historical process that forms Brazil. Since slavery abolition, which was led by a Caucasian elite group and supported by science - among them psychology - there has been a thought that legitimizes a supposed inferiority of blacks, pointing up an entire social group a set of negative attributes that remain alive and well in the social imagination. In this sense, this research discusses the racial prejudice and from this phenomenon the possible implications for the inclusion of black people in society. With that, what are the opinions of clinical psychologists, from his experience in private, about the possibility of a black clinical psychologist attend patient's that belong to financially privileged classes and how he imagines that these patients would deal with that fact. Five psychologists will be interviewed with the criteria that their clinics are located in the wealthy districts of São Paulo, appointed by the local State Social Vulnerability Index (IDLH). The second point is to have at least five years of experience in this field. It is adopted the perspective of qualitative research building categories to be individually analyzed. (AU)
