Abstract

This qualitative research investigates the action of the psychologist in theme of relations racial/ ethnic, and how the category of race/ethnicity and racism appear in their daily work. Data collection includes literature review and analysis of documents, books, articles, theses and dissertations psi (Psychology, Psychoanalysis, Social Psychology) and interviews with psychologists. Will be interviewed professionals working in the areas of Public Health (Psychosocial Care Centers and Hospitals), Psychological Clinic (private), Human Resources (companies and public bodies), Social Welfare (Reference Centre for Social Welfare and other public bodies) and Education (public and private schools). Through the interviews we intend to collect information about how the demands of the black population appear in practice psychologist and if they have a procedure to deal with prejudice and racial discrimination and racism. Interviews will be conducted until reaching the saturation of information. It is estimated that at least 30 interviews are conducted, with 06 professionals in the field of Public Health, with 06 professionals in the Psychological Clinic, with 06 professionals in Human Resources, with 06 professionals in Social Assistance, with 06 professionals in the field of Education. The study aims to contribute to the training of researchers and psychologists in their various work fronts have been challenged by the socio-cultural construction of differences and inequalities and racism and its psychosocial effects.
