Abstract

In this project there will be introduced and theoretically investigated a new class of entangled states of the quantized electromagnetic field based on squeezed coherent states. We will study the effects of squeezing on the non-classical properties (such as entanglement, for instance), as well as their feasibility as alternative resources for quantum information protocols. There will be also investigated the robustness of those states when facing interctions with the environment that mormally lead to decoherence.
