Abstract

The purpose of this project is to evaluate the strength of bridges made of wood and concrete plus rubber particles from retread tires. Therefore, it will be possible to obtain the some durability as the mixed bridges, as well as reduce environmental impacts caused by irregular discard of tires and to achieve the mechanical resistance required by the standards prevailing in the country.Accordingly, two mixed bridges will be made: one without rubber and another one with 10% rubber added in fine aggregate assembled volume. Furthermore, tests will be made to verify any deformation along the bridge and the results will be compared.
