Abstract

Research and academic exchange program for the study of 68 works of the Francisco Matarazzo Sobrinho collection, today belonging to the collection of MAC USP. The study of these works will contribute to the understanding of the relations between Brazilian artistic milieu and the Italian one, in the 1930s and 1940s, mainly of the role played by Italian critic Margherita Sarfatti in these relations and in the notion of modern art conceived in that context.
