Abstract

The scholarship student selected to develop this scholarship will be based at MAC USP, working with the museum's collection of modern art, at the subproject of the responsible professor and her activities correspond to the "process" axis of the Thematic Project. It will update the catalog files of the modernist collection received by MAC USP from the old MAM, based on the parameters already adopted for reviewing the files of the Matarazzo Collections works. This activity will complement others already in progress and partially completed, updating the files of the Matarazzo Collections, and will try to update the works that have not yet been updated, as well as establish the same procedure as the so-called MAMSP collection. The scholarship student will thus be dealing with a universe of 1690 modernist works from the MAC USP collection, collected by the former MAM between 1948 and 1962. In addition to accompanying, therefore, the work of preparing the cataloging manual of the works of the MAC USP collection, the objectives of this activity plan also include checking data related to the life of the works (history of exhibitions, publication, provenance, etc.), as well as comparing them with the documentary sources present at MAC USP. The selection of this scholarship student will favor undergraduate students in the area of History, Museology or Information Sciences. The level of training corresponding to the IC scholarship is required, because in addition to dedicating themselves weekly to their activities, the selected scholarship student must have responsibility and seriousness, in addition to being systematic in their work routine, in order to guarantee the fulfillment of their tasks. As the scholarship student will be dealing with a public collection, through the feed of the MAC USP collection management bank, his commitment to the institution already requires a certain level of intellectual maturity and some experience with researching sources. In addition, it is hoped that such training can serve as another incentive for the professionalization of bachelors to work at the area of heritage preservation and museums.
