Abstract

This research project aims at the discussion of metholodogies in the management and handling of museological collections. In this sense, its central study object is what we call the curatorial cycle, which contrary to the notion of curatorship (in the way that nowadays it has been defined by its practice in the field of art) involves a chain of procedures and practices inside museums, from the moment of incorporation of objects to its exhibition. Although such chain has been given certain protocols in the field of museum studies and museology, it conforms to the specificity of the typology of collections and the academic/scientific field from which they are gathered. Taking case studies developed into academic research inside the institutions here engaged, our intention is to discuss the curatorial cycle from a transdisciplinary viewpoint. (AU)
