Abstract

This project examines the work of virtual tutors and professors from the Universidade Aberta do Brasil (UAB) tends as empiric base this program in the of the Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (UFOP), considering the specificity of the distance education modality (EAD) related to the new requirements of the professional formation and the changes in the work relations. The scenery of changes in the country, especially related to the structural changes in the work processes in their dimensions physical, organizational and of administration articulated with the movement of reform of the republican institutions with origin in the State induced changes in the Federal Institutions of Superior Education with implications in the professor's work. This research proposes to investigate the impacts on the professor as worker in the daily of this new university: an institution with new management model and new job requirements and labor relations placed with the use of new technologies of communication and information (TIC's) and with a new institutional culture linked to the rationality of the State. The authors Georgy Luckács and Agnes Heller will be used as theoretical and methodological references because they offer conditions to understand the complexity of the institutional practice in the daily. The work plan will include the analysis of the official documents related to the UAB and the professor's occupation added to interviews with the virtual professors and tutors.
