Abstract

From some works carried out in recent years by the LTF research group, we have achieved a good experience in the simulation of optical networks with focus on optical packet networks. At this time, with the second year of kyatera project, which LTF is an active participant, we intend to begin the implantation of the experimental 5-nodes optical network in order to carry on the experiments on packet routing under the conditions of spatial contention resolution and study, by means of simulation, the problem of out of order packets under the point of view of requirements of QoS provision. Besides, with the arriving of new equipments as transponders and optical multiplexers, we intend to study hierarchical networks with the use of fair algorithms for the wavelength assignment.
