Abstract

In this work we study a nonlinear boundary value problem posed along the real line. We look for nontrivial solutions decaying to zero at infinity and our aim is to give a necessary and sufficient condition for existence of such solutions. Actually, we intend to characterize all nontrivial solutions to the problem. We also discuss the results obtained through classes of nonlinearities occurring in partial differential equations.
