Abstract

Currently, there is in the Brazilian market a phytotherapic product indicated for the treatment of dyspepsia (Ierobina®). The formulation has the hydro-ethanolic extracts of Solanum paniculatum L. (Solanaceae), Remijia ferruginea D. C. (Rubiaceae), Jacaranda caroba D. C. (Bignoniaceae) and Erythraea centarium (L.) Borkh. (Gentianaceae). Considering the need of new phytotherapics and the data ethnopharmacological described in the literature for Solanum paniculatum, a species of Brazilian flora that is widely found in the state of São Paulo and many others states it is proposed the fractionation of the ethanolic extract (70%) of the fruits of this specie, in order to obtain the substances present in this extract. The substances will be purified through chromatographic methods and their structures characterized by spectrometric methods, later to be used in studies of quantification and standardization of the extract. At the same time, the extract will be submitted to a toxicity and antiulcerogenic activity evaluation investigation.
