Abstract Focusing on the personal archive of Theodoro José Braga(1872-1953) in possession of the Public Archives of São Paulo, this research seeks to find elements that allowed us to understand a certain "marajoara culture" that flourished in Brazil in the first half of the twentieth century, with special emphasis on fine arts, graphics, ceramics and architecture. Braga, born in the Brazilian State of Para, in the city of Belém, was one of the leading publishers and exponents of this discussion in Brazil. Artist with extensive experience in drawing and painting he served, also, on several fronts, from teaching to school administration, passing also through the history and geography production. Based in Sao Paulo, from 1921 until his death, bequeathed important documentation that we intend search, trying to understand his his look and his dialogues. | |
