Abstract Over the years, the rapid advancement of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) is changing significantly the way the society communicates and conducts business. Similarly, changes have occurred in the way that educational resources are designed, developed and made available to learners. The proposition of appropriate mechanisms for the development and delivery of educational resources is a prominent concern. It also highlights the need for mechanisms that provide increased productivity and quality of educational resources developed. Agile development methods fit into this perspective, addressing a new approach to development, focusing on agility, flexibility, communication skills and the ability to deliver software and services with added values to the market and in a timely manner. Another important aspect to be highlighted concerns the development of open educational resources. In fact, the free and open distribution of these resources contributes to the spread of knowledge and facilitates access to information, benefiting society as a whole. This paper aims at proposing an agile method for developing open educational resources with quality, able to motivate learners and contribute to the process of knowledge construction. In addition, a pilot environment to assist in providing and maintaining open educational resources must also be established. Finally, it is important to emphasize that the proposed mechanisms must be validated through its application in the development and provision of open educational resources in different areas of knowledge, particularly in the field of Free/Libre and Open Source Software. | |
