Abstract

The goal of this project is to study the production of quantum entanglement in electronic mesoscopic systems, for which the movement can be considered ballistic. In this case the classical dynamics of the system is important, and we consider systems with a chaotic classical limit, for which the quantum properties are known to be universal and well described by random matrix theory. Particularly, we intend to include a superconductor interface in the quantum dot, leading to what is usually called an Andreev billiard. We will investigate how the presence of Cooper pairs should affect the production of entangled states, using both analytic and numerical methods.
