Abstract

The experience of pain is subjective, complex, multidimensional and includes physical, biological, social, psychological and spiritual aspects. It's a symptom that has acute and chronic characteristics and if it's not treated properly may cause grievance to the health of the person experiencing it. Pain is considered a concern of all the health team and is an important object of study. Objectives: accomplish the conceptual analysis of the "Chronic Pain", a nursing diagnosis from NANDA, considering the context of a patient with Migraine, through the integrative review of the literature; identify which defining characteristics and related factors of NANDA nursing diagnosis "Chronic Pain" are present on the patients with Migraine. Method: 1) integrative review of the literature, composed by 6 stages: Identification of the guiding question, data collection, selletion and search for articles; study categorization, data analyses, interpretation of results and syntheses of knowledge. 2) Clinical validation - data collection from the patients with migraine in order to observe which are the defining characteristics and related factors, found in the literature review, are possible to observe in this sample. Through this study is expected to contribute with Nursing on the elaboration of the "Chronic Pain" nursing diagnosis when offering support to nursing assistance systematization to the patients with Migraine and expand the nurse knowledge of chronic pain.
