Abstract

The objective is to confront the mechanisms of adaptation and migration of Brazilians in Canada with the theory of social networks in order to verify the hypothesis that neoclassical theory does not cover all issues of current reality of migration, adding to debate the theoretical concepts theories of social networks as an element that maintains the flow. Therefore, this project comprises two interrelated steps. First, draw a census and socioeconomic profile of Brazilian immigrants to Canada. Secondly, we intend to map and analyze the patterns of adaptation of immigrants during the entire migration process and confront the social network theory. (AU)
