Abstract

Estimated on R$ 380 million, the project "Wonderful Port" concentrates urbanization works on one million square metre in the Port Region of Rio de Janeiro. As the urbanistic interventions are crossed by reappropriations articulated by the social actors inserted in the urban context, this research has as objective to carry out a mapping of several pratices and representations wich involve the every day life of the place and the interventions circumscribed at the project "Wonderful Port". Through bibliographic revision about the theme, systematic surveys on press source and ethnographic field work, the research wants to contribute for the understanding about the dynamics wich involve the ways of using the Port Region of the city.
