Abstract

The main purpose of this project is to demonstrate the interdependence between various social actors involved in the process of the accomplishment of the agro-environmental law in the sugar cane properties in the northeast of São Paulo, tackling specifically to themes: the reforestation of the permanent preservation areas in these properties and the prohibition of the burning of the sugar cane. In order to do this, we intend to characterize this juridical lawsuit in its dynamism and materiality, analytically reflecting about the trodden path by the juridical phenomenon and about the roles played by the various social actors in the creation of the norms. Starting from a concretist understanding of the juridical phenomenon and applying, moreover, the dialetic and the interdisciplinary methods, we seek, through the analysis of concrete decisions, bibliographic reading, interviews and utilization of statistic data, to contribute to the understanding of the concrete insertion of the law in the environmental protection of the region, supplying the lack of scientific analysis about the function and the paths of the law to the environmental adjustment of the most important economic sector of the northeast of São Paulo. This project is justified by the need of an analytic characterization about the participation of other social actors in the process of normative accomplishment, beyond the ones traditionally listed.
