Abstract

The doxycycline hyclate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic derived from oxytetracycline used in several countries. It has been used to treat infectious diseases and as an additive in animal feed to facilitate their growth. In Brazil this drug is marketed by Union Chemical pharmaceutical dosage form in 80mg and 200mg tablets with the name Doxitrat ® and 10ml vial with the name Calmium ®, since 2004 the pill 100mg dosage form whose commercial name is Uni Doxycycline ® is out of line. This project aims to develop and validate analytical methodologies more dynamic of doxycycline hyclate, including spectrophotometric analysis, chromatographic and microbiological tests, compare the content and antimicrobial activity of doxycycline hyclate with their inclusion complex, conducting study of dissolution, as well as have qualitative identification techniques for the pharmaceutical form and raw material.
