Abstract

We propose here the analysis of Thomas Mann s novel Felix Krull(1954) as a work that questions the realistic novel form. Two main issues shall be investigated: the fact that the novel remained unfinished as well as the way under which the narrator builds up Krull s identity - or better, the fragmentation of that identity. We shall divise how the tradition of the novel as a genre is affected by this.
