Abstract

Climate, soil and relief are fundamental issues to the human activities. As sugarcane planting has expanded its yield areas due to the wide importance of the alternatives energy sources, it is important to understand what the response of the sugarcane yield in the topo-sequences areas and evaluate the yield potential under this conditions. This study aims to analyze the sugarcane yield in topo-sequence in sectors delimited by similar characteristics of climate, soils and relief in the Paranapanema watershed using the systemic approach. It is intend to demonstrate that this systemic approach, joining natural elements, is the most suitable to explain the sugar cane yield variability in the Paranapanema watershed. This research aims to observe the crop development by means of field works that will be performed in the years 2011 troughout 2013. It is intended to use the infra-estructure of the GAIA (Research group Interactions on Surface Water and Atmosphere) research group and the Soil Lab from UNESP - Presidente Prudente Campus. The elaboration of all cartographic data basis and analysis are supposed to end by 2014.
