Abstract

Objective: the present study seeks to verify the correlation between hypothyroidism with hormone replacement and the secretion in the vocal folds. Methodology: Will be included 60 individuals of both sexes, over 18 years. The group called "A" will be constituted of 20 subjects with a diagnosis of hypothyroidism, doing hormone replacement treatment and present themselves compensated. The group "B" will be composed of 20 subjects with the same characteristics of the group "A" differing only in laboratory tests, so, hypothyroidism decompensated. The group "C" will consist in 20 subject without hypothyroidism. Individuals who have held tireoidectomia will be excluded. The search will be developed in ambulatory laryngoscopy Hospital Estadual de Ribeirão Preto (HERP) as acquiescence of its Director. Keywords: hypothyroidism, vocal changes, vocal folds secretion. (AU)
