Abstract

This research proposes a study of the debate on the issue of secondary school located in the 1920s and 1930s. Derived from a perspective that gave the role to education and referral to training progress, and the "civilizing power of the school" is that from the 1930s, the determinations of the education reforms will have national coverage in the organization of the educational system, as Reform in these determinations Francisco Campos, 1931.With a view to locate and question the place of discipline in school history debate on proposals for the reorganization of secondary education in Brazil in the years 1920 and 1930, and the places of power that produced these speeches, I propose to take, the Institute of Geography as a institutions that participated in the contest and thought the link and the content of the history teaching in these high school renovation projects.
