Abstract

The current proposal deals with the design and construction of software for interfacing and control of femtosecond spectroscopy experiments. The initial phase of the project involves study of the Labview programming language and input/output integration of the different components. The main part entails controlling a high-precision linear translation stage, together with the driver, using Labview. The control is inter-connected with the signal data acquisition system, which is fed by a photo-detector. The basic design will then be expanded to include new detection schemes, such as a spectrometer and lock-in amplifier, opto-mechanical shutter and two-dimensional sample positioning scheme.
