Abstract

Biostatistics is an important topic in biological field The conexion among different topics, as parasitology, provides interesting research and experimental data analysis helping researchers to find solutions specially to problem of this area The statistical tests, parametric and nonparametric support studies to evaluate and verify hypotheses. It´s very important to select appropriate statistical test to correct analysis of experiment. Statistical methods in the sheep industry could provide comparative analysis of medications effectiveness. Moreover, Brazilian sheep industry had growth and increased in importance recent years. The gastrointestinal nematode of small ruminants is the main health problem of this specie. The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of anti-helminthic currently available commercially using appropriate statistical tests depending on the nature of the data and assumptions of the tests in the evaluation of OPG. 350 animals will be selected from five commercial sheep farms with or without a history of anthelmintic resistance. From each farm, 70 animals will be divided into seven groups containing 10 animals each: Group 1 - control, Group 2 - Albendazole and Group 3 - levamisole hydrochloride, Group 4 - Ivermectin, Group 5 - Moxidectin and Group 6 - Closantel; Group 7 - Ivermectin + albendazole + levamisole. The results will be subjected to parametric or nonparametric tests, depending on the descriptive analysis. Statistical analysis will be performed with the computer programs SAS ® (Statitical Analysis System) and GraphPad InStat ®, and considered significant when P <0.05. (AU)
