Abstract

Childhood is considered, according to the Ministry of Health as a phase of life that begins at birth and goes until 12 years old, is the responsibility of the family, society, and government agencies to ensure the rights related to the health and well-being of this child. Pediatric cancer is responsible for 12 to 13 000 deaths a year, this total is estimated that about 70% of cases can be cured if diagnosed and treated early. The treatment involves a complex and lengthy series of changes in daily life for the patient, and his family, which besides living with the suffering of the sick child and trying to understand the framework and its prognosis must also support this child in generally looking to their parents, a safe haven. Thus, the objective was to identify the main difficulties experienced by parents of children with cancer treatment, seeking grants for nursing care actions that make the experience less painful for the family. It is proposed qualitative study of a social phenomenological approach, which will enable to study of the phenomenon itself, in the eyes of these parents who experience such an experience, without a priori to explain or conceptualize it. It values the experience of the individual, the subject acts with intentionality, and this has a meaning which will be investigated by the researcher. To collect the data used in this study, the speeches will be drawn from parents and the family genogram, which corresponds to a graphical representation that seeks to distribute and elucidated the relationship map of a family.(AU)
