Abstract

Corn has great economic importance on the world stage, so it is essential that techniques to increase its productivity are developed. The biological control of pests is one of the existing methods to accomplish this task. To evaluate the cause of death of the plague, it is necessary to take samples of eggs to the laboratory and perform counts that determine the efficiency of the method. The project proposes the creation of a virtual instrumentation system that is able to perform the counting of the eggs, from a photograph, with greater speed and accuracy than manual counting.(AU)
