Abstract

The present project proposes to realize a bibliographic review of a set of ethnographies about two different regions: the Peruvian Pre-Andean Amazon, or Montaña, and the Northwest Amazon region. The proposal is to make a comparison focusing on the distinct ways that people constitute their landscapes by means of mythical narratives. The articulation between these cases relates to the presence of important arawakan groups in that two areas, but inserted in socio-historic contexts completely distinct: in Northwest Amazon arawak people have as neighbors the eastern tukano, while in the pre-andean region their neighbors are the peoples of pano language. While the arawak presents great territorial dispersion, both tukano and pano lie only in that two regions.(AU)
