Abstract

This project intends to analyze Simone de Beauvoir´s The Second Sex, aiming to understand why "bad-faith" consists in the resulting practice of the mistaken use of the freedom by women, in answer to the situation they´re circumscribed. By observing the argumentations and the way taken by the author, it´s a matter of identifying, in the entirety of the work, the categories that constitute the Feminineness as cultural construction, and that define in a singular way women´s situation and character. These categories historically condition the female of the human species to habits and manners which turn her into a second sex, grantee object to serve men´s moral and ontological pretensions. (AU)
