Abstract

This thesis project aims to analyze the expansion of agrohidronegócio and territorial disputes in the semi-arid region of Bahia as a vector having public policies implemented from the 1990s, in order to consider the dynamics of local conflicts over land and water and the various forms of resistance imposed by the Social Movements / caatingueiros subject to barbarism promoted by the action of capital and the state. In this context, we learn how the development projects implemented by the State in the semi-arid region of Bahia foster mobility and plasticity of field work, through the dismantling of traditional communities (rural background, pasture, riparian, indigenous peoples and Maroons) to enable the capital expansion process. Analyze the current situation becomes a burning issue so you can understand how there has been the appropriation of land and water, the implementation of public policies in this region as well as the struggles caatingueiros by subjects in defense of their territories.
