Abstract

Results of numerical experiments with an implementation of the model HYCOM to the Indian Ocean and Atlantic basins, forced with products of the NCAR/NCEP Reanalysis, confirm changes in the circulation of the South Atlantic, possibly linked with changes in the wind stress in the southern hemisphere. In the proposed investigation, the main objective is to analyze results of this numerical simulation in the southwestern region of the Subtropical South Atlantic and verify connections of possible changes with the increased Agulhas Leakage.
