Abstract

The master's project presented here aims to analyze the expansion of technical education in public high school offered by the federal government in São Paulo and their relationship with the design of economic and social development, recent in the country. What is the project of economic and social development of the country that tells you this expansion? The documents that link? What to tell - about the process of expansion and its relation to the development project - those who build the mid-level technical education at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo? What are the connections between policies for professional education, changes in employment and development, understood as social processes?The initial hypothesis is that there is a change in professional education to respond to change in the production process, market and labor relations in the country. The research will focus on the expansion policies promoted by the government Lula da Silva (2003-2010) and how they are realized in the city of São Paulo, in the same period, the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology.Methodologically, the master's project falls within the field of sociology, questioning the relationship between work, education and development. The research will be developed through sociological analysis of literature, documents, statistics and interviews with professionals who embody the middle-level technical education at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo.
