Abstract

This project proposes the identification of the main polluting elements in the atmosphere of São Paulo city and its major emitters. This study will be conducted through analysis of data on air quality, relevant reports, and records obtained by experiments using air quality monitors. Samples will be collected, classified, and compared from the content chemically and physically. From the indices obtained from samples of pollutants, it is possible to identify the major emitters by comparison with records of pollutants and their origin. The results will enable the mapping of the intensity of air pollution in urban areas, identifying the pollutants and their issuers and thereby contributing to the knowledge of the atmospheric features present, and may help to establish an awareness of their vulnerabilities, allowing a useful tool for planning and maintenance of the urban environment-related public policies.(AU)
