Abstract

This work intend to investigate in which way the malandro is characterized in the Tiro de Misericórdia album (RCA Victor 1977) of João Bosco and Aldir Blanc, through analysis taking into account the historical and social context of the decade of 1970s, which is marked by the military dictatorship in Brazil. We aim to understand how this character is built into the LP by the musical and textual choices, and in which manner this construction reflects the cultural, historical and social conflicts and contradictions that occurred in the period of the production of the album.
