Abstract The purpose of this research is to establish the phonological status of glottalization phenomena (glottal stops, vowel laringalization, glottal approximants, voiceless vowels, etc.) and aspiration (pre-aspirated and post-aspirated consonants) on languages Macuna, Tucano and Tuyuca, in the light of the theoretical framework proposed by the laboratory phonology presented by Pierrehumbert, Beckman, and Ladd (2000). We expect to validate, for the examined languages, the hypothesis of Stenzel for a Tucano language, Wanano (2007), in which the glottalization is considered as a suprasegmental feature (but interacting with the nasality and tone features). We will also study the presence of aspiration in these three languages. Results of this research will allow for an overview of the future realization of a comparative (genetic and areal) and typological analysis. | |
