Abstract

Introduction: One of the possibilities for evaluating the results of the various types of treatment applied to the head and neck cancer has been the use of questionnaires to assess possible changes in quality of life and voice of these patients. The study of quality of life in certain health conditions arouse interest for two decades and since then, questionnaires on general health and specific to certain conditions have been proposed. Objective: To assess the impact of head and neck cancer quality of life of individuals with cancer of the mouth, oropharynx, larynx and / or hypopharynx in quality of life and voice quality and speech disorders characterize the changes through the application of protocols self-assessment and perceptual assessment. Methods: 30 adults, 18 years, treated with surgery for cancers of the head and neck will be evaluated through the EORTC QLQ-C30 and EORTC QLQ-H & N35 and Index of Disadvantage Vocal IDV -10, will have their voices recorded will be accepted and the sensory-motor-oral before treatment and after 1 and 3 months of surgical oncology.
