Abstract

The constant human influence in handling activities, besides rising the production costs, becomes another stress source for the animals. The development of remote monitoring methods, in real time, of animal physical conditions, together with remote facilities control, enables the minimum human influence under animal behaviors, thus improving the quality of gathered data and decreasing the stress sources for the animals throughout the production cycle. Also helping at the traceability, by recording animal physical condition information throughout the production chain, improving, also the levels of quality and feed conversion, opening new markets and fortifying production and exports of pork meat in Brazil. Before it the project intends to identify the thermal window of piglets' skin through the results of correlation between internal temperature (rectal and using internal sensor Botom) and skin temperature (thermographic camera and infrared sensors) so that in which an external temperature sensor could be installed at animal's skin to better represent the core temperature, assisting in the decision making and ambient automation.
