Abstract

This present study, to be realized in healthy pregnant women, through the third trimester of pregnancy, has an objective: to evaluate the influence of maternal glucose levels on ultrasonographic parameters of the fetal biophysical profile. Methods: Transversal and prospective study to be performed with 30 pregnant women within follow criterias:36 to 40 weeks of pregnancy; single pregnancy, alive fetus, without maternal morbidities; normal fetal morphology at the ultrasound exam, and pregnant woman who agree to participate in the study. Fetal breathing episodes, fetal movements, fetal tonus, and the amniotic fluid index will be evaluated through USG. Immediately before the exam, maternal glucose levels will be measured through capillary glycemia. In a maximum of 30 minutes of observation, it will be assessed the time interval until the fetus reaches the normal standards of fetal breathing movements, which is an episode of 30 or more seconds in duration. The amniotic fluid volume will be evaluated by the amniotic fluid index. We will study the correlation between maternal glucose level and interval time to fulfill the biophysical fetus profile.(AU)
