This work aims at devolping new visual paradigms to improve efficiency and effectiveness of multidimensional data exploration. For such purpose we intend to combine algorithms of various areas associated to infovis, such as shape based image processing and multidimensional scaling. From this integration we intent to establish new forms of representation tha manage, at the same time to reflect information lost in the mapping process and alow interpretation of information in various levels, advaning the state of the art in large scale multidimensional visualization. This proposal will allow exploration of data sets in a set of continuous scales, of level of details, enphasizing structural patterns in a natural way to the users. The results shall be validated in the context of three applications: image, text and software visualization.
