Abstract

The purpose of the present project is to investigate whether the exposure to social deprivation stress during adolescence increases ethanol self-administration in later stages of ontogeny. To this end, adolescent rats will be housed isolated from post-natal day (PND) 28 - 42. After the stress they will be tested for ethanol oral operant self-administration to determine the break point in a progressive ratio schedule and the ethanol intake in a 24-hour binge session. (AU)
